There
are motorcycle trailers that have steel reinforced ramps with steel
throughout and there are ordinary wooden ramps with outer steel frames
only; they look almost the same. Steel Reinforced ramps cost $175.00
more and are seldom engaged.
Our ramps are steel reinforced and have an extension, that make them another 16" / 18" longer and this is reflected in the web site pictures. These extensions are made of thick wood and coated with Black and White Checker board square Linoleum. The bottom section of the extension that touches the ground is plated with stainless steel and encased with polished aluminum surround moldings. The ramp is also equipped with a 60 LB overhead spring assist assembly, similar to an overhead garage door on a private residence. This reduces some of the weight of the ramp and will make opening and closing the ramp much lighter and easier. The linoleum covered ramp, stainless steel and aluminum trim work retails for $250.00. The factory wholesale price for all materials and workmanship is only $50.00! Can you begin to realize how some dealers make a fortune selling optional floors, walls and trim packages? To replace a cheap wooden ramp will cost $475.00, plus the additional $175.00 for it to be steel reinforced. This is the first reason why some trailers are less costly than others. You can do it the right way and pay a little more now or you can do it the wrong way and almost always pay a great deal more later. Either way you will pay, so do it right the first time! |
