Our
motorcycle trailers also have 5000 LB floor mounted D - Rings to hold
down very heavy cargo. Specifically, there are 3 - 5000 LB D - Rings
in the front, 3 in the center and 3 in the rear on all 6 X 10, 6 X 12,
and 7 X 12 trailers. Installing a 5000 LB D - Ring on a ½ inch or ¾ inch
floor without steel plates is dangerous and a false reliance at best!
On AeroTrailers, steel plates are installed on the underside of the floor
with the same bolts that hold in the D - Rings to offer maximum strength.
These rings will add tremendously to the safety factor and give the driver
peace of mind. Few dealers will go through the cost and expense of adding
the rings to the trailers.
No dealer that we know has ever engaged steel plates under the floor to reinforce the D-Rings! |
